Trusted Electricians Serving Yeadon, PA

Yeadon’s brick twins and single homes mostly date from the 1920s and the decades after, and they were never designed for today’s electrical loads. JDV Electric shares Yeadon’s 19050 ZIP code, so a licensed electrician is always close by.

Common Electrical Problems Faced By Yeadon Homeowners

Most Yeadon electrical calls come down to wiring and equipment that has simply outlived what it was designed to do.

Electrical Warning Signs Every Yeadon Homeowner Should Know

Homes that are close to 100 years old usually show small signs of trouble first. Paying attention to them keeps a minor repair from becoming a major one.

A licensed electrician can test the circuit and find the cause, so you know what is urgent and what can wait.

Why Working With A Local Electrician Matters

I contacted JDV to install a 50 amp line for an electric range. The line had to pass behind a 13' set of built in cabinets and wooden countertop that could not be moved. The cabinets were on a cement slab at the back of our row home. There was a slight access on one side of the slab through the basement. It seemed a monumental task to me. Piro (electrician dispatched by JDV) was on time to appointment. He was friendly, well-motivated and professional in all our interactions. I felt clear at every step along the way as to the work being done and why. There was no pressure to upsell on options. Piro stayed in contact with his management team along the way. The work was completed in a timely fashion on the first trip. The work was done well and with a guarantee. The office called to confirm my satisfaction with the work.

Very close. Our Delaware County office is in Lansdowne, which borders Yeadon and shares its 19050 ZIP code.

In most cases, yes. A modern breaker panel adds capacity, makes it easier to add circuits and supports safety devices such as whole-home surge protection and AFCI breakers.

Not without a ground. A three-prong outlet on an ungrounded circuit gives a false sense of safety. We can run grounded circuits or install GFCI protection where code allows.

Not always. Many homes need only certain circuits replaced. We inspect the wiring and give you a clear plan, from must-do items to future upgrades.

Usually because the AC shares a circuit with other loads. A dedicated circuit for each unit, or a panel upgrade, typically fixes it.

Yes. We add new grounded outlets and circuits so you can retire extension cords and power strips.

If you have a driveway or garage and enough panel capacity, it often can. We check your service size and load before recommending a plan.

It depends on the type of service and our schedule that day. Book online or call, and our team will give you the next available appointment. Our office is right next door in Lansdowne, so travel time is short.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. If you smell burning or see sparks, turn off the main breaker if it is safe to do so, and call PECO for outages, downed lines or meter problems. Then contact us so a licensed electrician can find and repair the cause.
