Newtown Square grew quickly after World War II, and Newtown Township added about 23% more residents between 2010 and 2020. JDV Electric helps homeowners in the 19073 ZIP code update post-war panels, add capacity for EV chargers and care for older estates.
Newtown Square homes range from 1950s and 1960s colonials and split-levels to large estates and newer communities, and each brings its own electrical issues.
Whether you live in a post-war colonial off West Chester Pike or a newer home near Route 252, JDV Electric provides the residential services Newtown Square homes need.
Many Newtown Square homes are now 60 to 70 years old, and their panels and wiring tend to give small warnings before they fail.
These signs can point to overloaded circuits, loose connections or aging equipment. JDV Electric can inspect the issue and explain exactly what we find.
Newtown Square sits on West Chester Pike between our Lansdowne and West Chester offices. We know the township’s post-war homes and older estates, and we plan upgrades around the chargers, additions and backyard projects you have in mind.

I contacted JDV to install a 50 amp line for an electric range. The line had to pass behind a 13' set of built in cabinets and wooden countertop that could not be moved. The cabinets were on a cement slab at the back of our row home. There was a slight access on one side of the slab through the basement. It seemed a monumental task to me. Piro (electrician dispatched by JDV) was on time to appointment. He was friendly, well-motivated and professional in all our interactions. I felt clear at every step along the way as to the work being done and why. There was no pressure to upsell on options. Piro stayed in contact with his management team along the way. The work was completed in a timely fashion on the first trip. The work was done well and with a guarantee. The office called to confirm my satisfaction with the work.

We handle residential electrical repairs, panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger installation, whole-house surge protection, smoke and CO detectors, inspections, and indoor and outdoor lighting. Every job is done by licensed electricians.
All of Newtown Township and the 19073 ZIP code, including Echo Valley, Florida Park, Larchmont and Wyola, plus nearby Edgmont, Marple, Willistown and Easttown Townships.
If it is crowded, worn or cannot handle your current loads, an upgrade is usually worth it. Panels from that era were not sized for central air, modern kitchens and EV chargers. We inspect it and tell you whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Not always. A 200-amp upgrade is common when you add an EV charger, central air, a heat pump or a large addition. We run a load review first so you only upgrade if your home needs it.
It depends on your current service, panel location, the number of circuits and whether the utility connection needs work. We inspect your setup and give you a firm price before work begins, and financing is available.
For homes with smart appliances, HVAC controls and home offices, it is a low-cost layer of protection. A surge protector at the panel guards the whole house, not just what is plugged into a power strip.
Often, yes. It depends on your service size, panel space and current load. We check all three and tell you whether the charger fits as is or needs a panel upgrade.
It depends on the type of service and our schedule that day. Book online or call, and our team will give you the next available appointment. Same-day service is often available.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. If you smell burning or see sparks, turn off the main breaker if it is safe to do so, and call PECO for outages, downed lines or meter problems. Then contact us so a licensed electrician can find and repair the cause.
